Indigenes of Tiv in Benue State, talking on the stage of Mdzough TIV, the Lagos chapter, have begged the Federal Government and security offices to stop the killings and destruction of lives and properties in the state.
During a briefing in Lagos, they approached the state and Federal governments to spare the Tiv ethnic country from elimination. President-General of the gathering in Lagos, Prince Aondowase Kajo, who talked in the interest of the general population, guaranteed that the Tiv community is under attack from the herdsmen, charging that more than 1,879 people, including kids, had been slaughtered within the vicinity of 2013 and 2016, including that more than 100,000 people have presently been displaced as more individuals had been murdered for this present year.
While noting that the herdsmen and Tiv people had been living together for long, he wondered what went wrong in recent times. He said: “We urge the government to deal with the situation decisively and not politically. “We are perturbed by these unprovoked killings of our people. The Federal Government must protect us now or else we will protect ourselves.
