Just few days after a collapsed building in Lagos which led to the death of many, Ibadan witnessed a similar experience on Friday, after a three-storey building collapsed.
The incident reportedly happened around 5:45pm in Sogoye are of Molete,Ibadan. The three-storey building under construction collapsed with several people injured and others trapped in the building.
The Oyo State Government spokesman, Mr. Toye Arulogun said the government was on top of the situation.
One of the survivors, Toheeb Gbadamosi, said “Today is my first time of working in this place. I just came around in order to raise some money for my upkeep because things were difficult. I thank God that I came out of the rubble alive”
We do not need another air crash to understand the value of lives in our nation, Nigeria. Laws need to be put in place to make such avoidable occurrences remain in the past.
