House of Representatives members on Wednesday donated N18m to Nigerian Paralympics team for their impressive performance at the Games in Rio.
The motion was passed by Hon. Ayo Omidiran who said the athletes’ unprecedented performance at the Games was worth applauding.
She said the athletes needed encouragement from the House, having won 13 medals at the Paralympic Games.
Speaking in support of the motion, Herman Hembe (Benue-APC), chairman of the House committee on Sports, Goni Bukar (APC- Bauchi) ascribed the performance of Team Nigeria to hard work noting that they are worthy of emulation.
The House also resolved to host the triumphant team.
