According to the Grace Amah, Nollywood actress, while she said that the film industry has improved with their storytelling and production quality, there is currently a lot of desperation and nonchalant behaviour.
“I don’t want to use the word ‘old and new,’ but Nollywood back then, I would say there’s a whole lot of difference,” she said.
“There was this professionalism. There was this love. There was this care, you could look out for one another. But New Nollywood? I’m sorry to say but there is a lot of desperation. There is a lot of wanting to outshine others, which is not a bad thing.”
“There is this nonchalant [behaviour], not taking the profession as what it should be, not respecting your seniors.Just because we find ourselves on a particular set then it looks like everyone is the same, or we are mates.
“But, there’s a lot of improvement in terms of scripting, in terms of production, in terms of camera quality, and in terms of story.”
