My Igbo brothers and sisters who are still in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), both elected and non-elected, should seize the opportunity of the present crisis in the party and jump out of the sinking ship before it is too late, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caucus, Chief Sam Nkire, said yesterday in an attempt to covince the Igbo community to join APC.
Chief Nkire said Igbos should take advantage of the APC continuous registration exercise to join the ruling party.
The former national chairman of the Progressives Peoples Alliance (PPA), who spoke after a meeting of Abia State stakeholders of the party, on how to boost membership, said the APC was the surest means of producing a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction.

Nkire, in a release yesterday, said what Igbos laboured in vain for in the Peoples Democratic Party for a long period of 16 years, would be achieved in a shorter time, if more people from the region joined the APC.
He particularly told the people of Abia State to troop out in large numbers to be counted among participants in Nigeria’s mainstream politics.
The Abia State born politician also predicted that not less than seven states, including Delta and Rivers would fall to APC by the 2019 general elections, if more Igbo speaking people joined the party.
