In the maiden edition of the 2018 Aiteo/Nigeria Football Federation awards, Super Eagles and Chelsea star, Victor Moses has been crowned 2018 NFF Player of the Year for Men, after edging out Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi and Lobi Stars’ Anthony Okpotu, while Asisat Oshoala won Player of the Year for Women.
27-year-old Victor Moses had a stellar 2016-17 season helping Chelsea win the English Premier League title which meant a return to continental football for the London side.
More remarkably was his transformation – under Antonio Conte – from an out-and-out winger to a wing-back and also, having to enjoy a season where the injury problems that had threatened his promising career were curtailed as he appeared in a career-high 40 games, scoring four goals in all competitions for the Blues.
He was also one of the key players as Nigeria became the first African nation to book a ticket to the Russia 2018 World Cup. Moses played in four of six World Cup qualifying clashes and scored thrice amid several dazzling moments.
According to Complete Sports, Channel Sports got Sports Station of the Year, Infantino was presented with the Platinum award and also awards were given to a selected Nigerian Legends both men and women.
Also, top Nigerian artistes like Simi, Tiwa Savage, Kiss Daniel, Reekado Banks, Pato Ranking and Falz were on hand to thrill the audience with their exciting performances.
