As the Nigerian general elections 2019 draws nearer, its no news under the sun that a few individuals who aspire to become Nigerian presidential candidates 2019 and contend for the most coveted seat in the nation have already made their place known from the different Political Parties.
Of course, we all know that in practical reality, the only Political Parties that are really contesting for the Nigerian Presidential Elections in 2019 are no other than the duopoly of PDP and APC (no offence to the other 66 Parties). Back then I remember them being 30, but that only makes the case worse now.
So with no further ado, meet the Nigerian presidential candidates 2019. There are some you will know, and some will be coming out of the blue and contesting for the first time:
#1. Muhamed Buhari
I guess this is obvious. You definitely saw this one coming. Forget that the current incumbent president has had a series of ill health since he assumed office back in 2015, one doesn’t spend his entire life contesting for the Presidency, finally win and you expect him to be satisfied with just one term?
#2. Babatunde Fashola:
It might pose a problem if indeed the ex lagos state Governor has intentions as the Nigerian general elections in 2019 draws near that both Fashola and Buhari hail from APC, considering the fact that in the end, only one Nigerian presidential candidate can represent his party.
Until the D-day, it’s all just speculations nevertheless.
#3. Pastor Tunde Bakare:
controversially popular General overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare revealed in January that God had instructed him to run for the 2019 Nigerian presidential elections.
The reason this makes for such controversial news stems from the realization that he might be the only Pastor contesting in 2019. Meanwhile, we haven’t yet heard anything from Chris Okotie’s FRESH party concerning the upcoming elections.
#4. Tinubu Asiwaju:
And I quote “There is nothing wrong with such ambition. It depends on the timing and the environment and what political leadership dictates. I will not brush aside such an aspiration,”
This statement was made by Tinubu sometime in Ondo State when he was asked about his presidential aspirations. And even though he publicly denounced any aspirations to contest against Buhari in a tweet on Wednesday, March 1, 2017
#5. Rochas Okorocha:
About a year ago, Naij reported that posters bearing the faces of Kashim Shettima and Rochas Okorocha had been seen in Abuja, shortly after which the Governor denied having anything to do with the posters (in other words saying he wasnt interested in competing against the Incumbent. Even so, many Nigerians still consider him one of the most suitable Nigerian Presidential candidates 2019.
Now over to you.
Who would you vote for among these 5?
