Premiership club, Leicester City has confirmed the death of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, the billionaire owner who died in the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of four others outside the King Power Stadium on Saturday night.
Others that died in the crash include Pilot Eric Swaffer, his partner Izabela Roza Lechowicz, who is also a pilot, and two members of Srivaddhanaprabha’s staff, Nursara Suknamai and Kaveporn Punpare.
Confirming the death of the 60-year-old Thai businessman, the club released a statement on its social media accounts and also announced that Tuesday’s proposed Carabao Cup game against Southampton will be called off and black armbands will be worn at matches over the next seven days.
The statement clarifies that none of the five people on-board survived the crash; and that a book of condolence would be opened at the Power Stadium by 8 am on Tuesday for supporters wishing to pay their respects.
