Peter Obi, the vice presidential candidate of the PDP in the forthcoming presidential election, has responded to the controversies surrounding Father Mbaka’s words that were connected to him losing the 2019 election.
He declares he has no ill feelings toward Rev Ejike Mbaka for his predictions. He also pleading with the raging Nigerian to stop attacking the man of God. While reigniting his respect for men of God, he sought for prayers for the minister.
As reported by The Punch, the vice presidential candidate in a statement issued through his media aide, Val Obienyem, said he has no ill feelings toward the clergy man for his predictions.
Obi said rather than criticise Mbaka for his declarations, Nigerians should always remember their priests in prayers. The politician noted that the cleric had always spoken from the higher perspective of wisdom.
”Please let us leave Fr. Mbaka alone; our duty to him is prayers for God to lead him aright,” Obi said. “While one may disagree with him, we should always acknowledge that he speaks and acts from the higher perspective of wisdom.”
“I have full respect for men of God and will always remember them in my prayers. When they go wrong as humans, subject to human frailties, ours is not to castigate them, but to pray to God to lead them aright.”
What prompted these statements were Rev Ejike Mbaka proclamations that predicted President Muhammadu Buhari and the presidential candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, may lose 2019 presidential election. The respected cleric said this during the 2018 harvest and bazaar celebration at his Adoration Ground in Emene. He also argued that it was the prayers on Adoration altar that made Buhari the president. Mbaka lamented that the president had refused to come and do a project for his ministry as a way of thanking God.
