
After being nominated 12 times, Jermaine Lamarr Cole wins his first Award in the 62nd Grammys. J Cole bagged this feat last night off the ‘A lot’ track in the ‘Best Rap Song’ category. He co-wrote, and was featured in the track by 21 Savage who has had 4 nominations.
Other nominations in the same category included ‘Bad Idea’ by YBN Cordae featuring Chance The Rapper, ‘Gold Roses’ by Rick Ross featuring Drake, ‘Racks In The Middle’ by Nipsey Hussle featuring Roddy Ricch & Hit Boy and ‘Suge’ by DaBaby.
J Cole was featured in other categories in the 62nd Grammys: First was ‘Best Rap Performance’ which ‘Racks In The Middle’ by Nipsey Hussle, Roddy Ricch and Hit Boy clinched. Another was ‘Best Rap/Sung Performance’ which ‘Higher’ by DJ Khaled featuring Nipsey Hussle and John Legend snagged. Finally, Tyler, The Creator bagged the ‘Best Rap Album’ for ‘IGOR’.
It is also noteworthy to recall Angelique Kidjo’s win in the ‘Best World Music Album’ category; defeating Burna Boy. Big up to 21 Savage and J Cole on the well-deserved win.
