President Muhammadu Buhari would this Tuesday visit Cross River to commission the first in Africa multi-billion naira automated rice seeds and seedlings factory in Calabar.
The state Governor, Mr. Ben Ayade, said the state was prepared for the official visit for the inauguration of the factory which he said, “is a seed multiplication centre that produces high yielding, disease resistant and high vitamin rice seedlings”.
“The President will also inaugurate the ultramodern Navy Hospital in Calabar”, he said adding that arrangements had been concluded for Mr President’s visit.
“We are perfectly in order. This is homecoming for Mr. President and as far as I am concerned, Cross River is ready to receive him on Tuesday, June 26.
“We are going to give him a perfect reception,” the governor assured.
He said that the President’s visit, which is the second since assuming the Presidency, was an indication of the president’s love for the state and a stamp of approval for his administration’s investments in agriculture.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, ASP Irene Ugbo, said this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Calabar.
Ugbo said that everything was in order to give the president a rousing welcome.
