Nigeria to the Wolrd! This documentary, Sweet sweet Codeine by BBC Pidgin and BBC Africa Eye has landed the first International Emmys nomination for the BBC World Service and Nigeria.
It was released in 2018. It is BBC Africa Eye’s first documentary and it was done by investigative journalists Ruona Meyer and Adejuwon Soyinka (editor of BBC Pidgin).
It is nominated under the News and Current Affairs category.
I am excited, the documentary, Sweet, Sweet Codeine has just landed me my first International Emmy Awards nomination/mention. Organisers say this is the first Emmy nomination for BBC World Service and for Nigeria!!! Congratulations @bbcnewspidgin @RGAMeyer @CNorthcott1 @marcperky
